Geshe Pema Dorjee was born in Tibet and fled with his family in 1959, growing up in Dharamsala, India. He studied Buddhist philosophy and in 1995 was awarded the Geshe degree - the highest academic title in Tibetan Buddhism. For over 20 years he taught and served as principal at the Tibetan Children's Village. At the request of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, he founded the Bodong Research Center and a monastery in Kathmandu. He has also led extensive humanitarian projects, including schools, orphanages, water systems, and earthquake relief in Nepal. Since 1997 he has been teaching worldwide, known for his clarity, warmth, and compassion.
